Understanding your body type // Growing up, I used to feel really awkward around my peers... Why? I was always the tall, quiet one and often felt out of place.

It wasn't until high school when I grew into my body and started figuring out how to dress. We all know it was thanks to the help of Lizzie McGuire and my mother making trips to Metro Mall with me back when forever21 first made it's debut.

Fast forward to 2012 when I moved to Los Angeles and met Ashley, the owner of chantellonmelrose who pushed me out of my comfort zone and into some really cute clothes from her boutique.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I learned from her was that you need to take a risk to figure out what you like to wear, and may often be pleasantly surprised at what you find. For me, it's a silhouette that gives my lanky body some shape and confidence - ha! I find them in high waisted pants or really anything I can cinch at the waist.

The magic about the high-wasted silhouette? It looks good on every woman and bodytype! Promise. Sometimes I play a fun game of "I can't wear that" and force my clients to try on whatever it is they say they "could never wear or look good in." Trust me, you can and you will look fire. Try it in a pair of jeans, sweats or even a romper and see what you think! #shapeitout
