Self care…
I know we all do different things for our own self care, but as different as they are…they are all just as important…important to our self confidence, our self esteem, important to us, and our overall health… I have found being outside and enjoying nature is some of my self care. Pushing my body to the limits, climbing mountains and sweating so hard it hurts, laughing with my girlfriends, but we keep going, and knowing I can enjoy a delicious meal with a cold beer as a bonus reward for all that hard work.
That is the inner self care, but there is an outer part that has yearned for some new things as well. first, I started taking better care of my hair thanks to Alexis from alexisvictoriasalon and curlyloxs I never really maintained my hair color or my greys that are slowing popping up everywhere.. Eeeks! and this past year, Alexis has totally brought my hair back to life. Giving it some great color and texture. I’m pretty happy with this gal.. and second..The good ol’ signs of aging… we all will age… (shocker) but I just wanted to slow down the process a bit.. ya know… age gracefully as they say… I am a true believer in sun care which I think has helped tremendously, but aging is aging, and I am seeing it come through slowly… I’m not afraid of it.. I just want my face and skin to match how I feel from the inside… I made an appointment with Vicki Miles from redlandsplasticsurgery to see how we can slow the process down a bit, and she was so helpful in answering all my questions… no, I did not get plastic surgery lol..and I’m not trying to look like Barbie.. haaa.. but I sure would’t mind a tummy tuck. HA! I went through the process of a lil’ botox and some fillers around the eyes and mouth area which Vickie recommended. I am so happy with the results. The results are subtle, but noticeable to probably only me most of the time because, well, I see myself more… but I have had a few people say I look refreshed and well-rested and that brings a smile to my face and some confidence back in and I’ll take it.
