Juvenile lemon shark during a scientific workup. Data is collected and sharks are released. A “recap” is exciting because it means we have previously caught and tagged the shark. We insert PIT tags to ID each shark. Recaps help us determine growth rates, movement and habitat use. (I am holding the shark as it swims for a few seconds to make observations before release)
