Scientists have narrowed down 12 species that can help them assess the plastic pollution crisis. Green sea turtles and black-footed albatross are two well-known species they identified. Animals who have already died are able to provide valuable data about plastic in the North Pacific. This is where the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" is.
