Tiger Sharks need our help ⚠️ Tiger sharks are a keystone predator. This means their feeding habits shape the ecosystem around them to such a degree that their disappearance would have a catastrophic impact. For example, scientists studying tiger sharks in Australia noticed that seagrass beds without tiger sharks were overgrazed and wiped out by hungry sea turtles, a favorite meal for tiger sharks. However, their presence near seagrass beds forced the sea turtles to graze across a much wider region, which allowed critical seagrass beds to flourish and the whole ecosystem to thrive. With tiger shark populations declining globally, it's time to step in now.
