Check out what Team Hawaii has been up to! Our cleanup crews in Hawaii recently recovered 344 pounds of trash from this bay off northeast Oahu. Looking at these photos, you can't help but notice the heaps of abandoned fishing nets polluting the beach. Sadly, this is a norm for this part of Oahu. The windward side of Oahu is known to have high accumulations of marine debris. Essentially, this is the side of the island where marine debris from the Great Pacific Garbage Gyre washes up.
