Heavy rains in Guatemala are leaving mounds of plastic pollution along coastlines.
Guatemala has experienced a lot of heavy rains recently. These rain storms are happening inland, which has caused an immense amount of trash, plastic and other debris to flow down the Motagua River and into the ocean.
Our cleanup crews in Quetzalito have been tackling these trash mounds daily and have been making an incredible impact.
Just over the last week, our cleanup crews in Guatemala have recovered thousands of pounds of trash.
