This poor European Herring Gull was recently entangled in the straps of a disposable face mask.
Thankfully, South Essex Wildlife Hospital in the UK was able to rescue and tend to this seagull.
When face masks like these aren't properly disposed of, they make their way into the environment and become a severe threat to wildlife, as shown here.
Our cleanup crews have been finding hundreds of face masks during daily cleanup missions. So as mask regulations around the world continue to be enforced, we urge you to consider using a reusable one, such as our organic cotton Face Masks!
If you can't use a reusable face mask, please ensure you're properly disposing of your single-use masks so that they don't end up in the environment where they can cause harm to wildlife.
