We chose Guatemala because the Motagua River is one of the top sources in the world for ocean plastic pollution. Plastic pollution enters the Rio Motagua from Guatemala City and over 80 other small villages along its way to emptying into the Caribbean Sea.
Our Guatemala cleanup headquarters is strategically located in Puerto Barrios due to its close proximity to the mouth of the Rio Motagua and its easy access to Amatique Bay where our vessels can be launched.
