This particular coastline in Haiti was covered in ocean plastic during a recent cleanup mission of ours.
As you can see in these images, the piles of plastic stretch for miles and is heartbreaking to see. The 4ocean cleanup crews are working hard, seven days a week, to recover this plastic and ensure it is recycled responsibly.
Recovering this plastic helps prevent marine life ingestion and entanglement. It also enables the ecosystem to recover and prosper as it is meant to do. We must continue to clean the ocean, rivers, and coastlines while also increasing our efforts to stop plastic pollution at its source, so it never gets into the ocean to begin with.
