While we were out surveying one of Central America’s highest polluting rivers, the Rio Motagua, we came across massive piles of plastic and marine debris near the river mouth.
The main purpose of this trip was to survey the Rio Motagua and build relationships, however, we just couldn’t leave these massive piles of plastic behind. So we loaded up on a skiff and drove up to the first town we saw, recruited and hired individuals from the community and local officials to join us for a cleanup.
Stay tuned to see what happened next.
