Rivers are the highways to the ocean. Globally, rivers dump an average of 1.035 billion to 5.51 billion pounds of pollution into the ocean every year. ⠀ This concoction of plastic and trash comes from a variety of land-based activities such as poor waste management practices, illegal dumping and littering, and floodwaters carrying waste from streets and urban areas. ⠀ Whatever the case, we’re on a mission to recover millions of pounds of ocean plastic and work with local communities to change plastic consumption habits.⠀ #4ocean #WeAre4ocean
