If we don’t act to end ocean plastic pollution, the only seashells Sally will be selling by the seashore are plastic ones like this tiny plastic button recovered by our cleanup crew. Small pieces of plastic, including micro- and nanoplastics, absorb environmental toxins that can work their way up the food chain when ingested by marine life. Scientists have already found microplastic inside 114 aquatic species and around half of them wind up on our dinner plates. #4ocean
