Did you know that a single plastic water bottle takes approximately 450 years to break down, with some plastic bottles taking as long as 1000 years? Even after that time, plastic cannot completely decompose and will remain in the oceans as microplastics. In 2016, the average number of plastic bottles used per person in the US alone was 167 bottles. A simple solution to reduce the amount of plastic bottles that we use annualy that could possibly reach our oceans is to always use a reuseable water bottle. 👍 📷: @noaasanctuaries #TrashTalkTuesdays #4Ocean #1Bracelet1Pound
