From @adrianconway_. There’s a story here. (Read it)
I used to train @spjut2 when he was in high school (yes it makes me feel old to know that too). At the time he was just a high school athlete trying to get the most out of his performance. After graduating and serving a mission for his church Mitch sent me an email. The email went something like this

Hey Adrian, I see you are competing and coaching @crossfit now. I just started and would like to come train at your gym to pursue competing and try to make it to the @crossfitgames. •
Me: (rolls eyes, here we go another wanna be @crossfitgames athlete who thinks they want it but has no idea what it takes....yes i think this every time.)
“Cool man, I’m training tomorrow at 7:00am with some people come through if you want.” (I didn’t know it was Mitch, the name on the email didn’t serve as recognition.)

Mitch shows up, I recognize him. We chat for a minute and he hops in. Hardly talks, asks no questions. And the session was like:
30 mb squat cleans
30 walll balls
3 rounds for time •
•
Build to heavy squat snatch •
•
Some combo of thrusters and C2B pull ups in a team format. •
He signed up and took the class for 2 months or so. And began focusing his training schedule around mine. Literally when i showed up, he showed up and it was that simple for the next 1.5 years.(spent more awake time with Mitch than my wife to be very honest, we trained a lot).We made for good training partners and he transformed over the next 2 years to a different athlete. NOT because of some great program. But because he applied every conversation we had over the time we spent together. He put recovery first, he ate well, slept well, focused on weakness. And he enjoyed the process simply focusing on one day at a time. •
His progress speaks for itself. He is on his way and hopefully he still loves every minute of the journey. In the meantime we won an affiliate cup this year with 4 other amazing athletes that also influenced his development @wasatchbrutes. •
