When we think about stretching most go directly to loosening muscles in the posterior chain. However, due to the vast majority of our lifestyles, you are best served to open tissues in the front of the body like the quads and hip flexors to help restore balance. Our time in a chair, forward facing and often slouched lead to the shortening of these tissues which can affect our pelvic resting position. The change of that position results in an anterior tilt, causing tension in our hamstrings and low back. Confusing? Just know that because something feels tight doesn’t mean it’s the culprit. •

Do this stretch or something called the couch stretch more often! Sit for less periods of time and break up the time you are forced to sit. Your back and hamstrings will help you! #FNX #iLiVE #RiseTogether #PerformanceRising
