We celebrate both Passover and Easter holidays in our home. We are a modern mixed family. We enjoyed our Seder last night and it reminded me of so many years past, growing up with my father leading the prayers. I love the symbolism of this holiday, the Seder plate, hiding the matzoh and the memories I treasure from my youth. I now pass that on to my children. . I also look forward to celebrating Easter this Sunday with Easter baskets, hiding eggs and enjoying our feast together with family. Passover and Easter are the only two holidays in Judaism and Christianity that have the theological power to bring us together. . Both celebrate spring and hope....They arrive together every spring, like the daffodils and cherry blossoms. . In both, nature and history converge with a resounding message of hope. The renewal of nature that comes with spring amplifies the promise of redemption embedded in the historical events being commemorated. . Easter and Passover are festivals of equal gravity. I value both and the messages they bring. So to everyone I wish you a happy holiday with your family.
