Have you looked around lately ......and noticed more and more your friends are "doing" something else? According to CNN Money, 44 million Americans today have a side hustle.
To put that even more in perspective, 1 in 2 millennials and 1 in 4 baby boomers have a side hustle. .
A side hustle is something you do to not only contribute to your income but that allows you to exploit your talents and interests. Something that allows you to make a difference in the world, find purpose, help others. To many, it’s not about the money, but a way to find more worth in our daily lives. Give back and contribute to the betterment of others.
So, why do people have side hustles?
Of course, money makes the world go ’round and there is nothing wrong with starting a business and earning income. Whether you write articles for a local newspaper, open a pop up store, drive an uber, start a fitness studio, sell on etsy, rent your home on AirBNB or like me become a health and wellness advocate for @Beautycounter. Each business is something to be proud of; it takes drive, commitment, time management and the passion to run your own business....but it is soooooooo worth it..... Whether you have 5 hours and week or 35 hours a week, this is a GIG economy. This is the future. More and more of us are doing something "on the side", on our schedule,in our time, doing it as much or little as we want. We have freedom to be successful that fits into our life. Family comes first. Not the other way around.
So if you are working a side hustle part time or full time, bravo to you for being one step ahead of everyone else. Others will follow. According to Forbes, “The gig economy [in the U.S.]…is now estimated to be about 34% of the workforce and expected to be 43% by the year 2020.” So join us, I am hiring ......and looking to double my team this year. Who's in? Let's have coffee.....
