Lipstick is one of THE most toxic products in our makeup bags.
I know, scary right?! If you’re like me, you wear it almost daily and when you’re wearing it, you likely apply it multiple times a day every day. That can add up to significant absorption into our bodies.
Our skin is our bodies’ largest organ and skincare products, makeup and lipstick is quickly absorbed into our bodies and can have lasting effects.
Another thing that makes lipstick more toxic is that it’s on our lips.
Not only are ingredients able to penetrate the skin our lips and make their way into our bodies. But we end up ingesting lipstick and lip gloss unintentionally. Think about every time you eat or drink when you have lipstick on. It inadvertently gets on your food and glass, right? Just imagine how much of that is actually being swallowed with every bite or sip!
Okay, I’m not trying to scare you from wearing lipstick completely! More than anything, I just want to make you aware of what is in our skincare products and makeup as well as what we will not use. I lead with education. So that way you can make better, informed decisions be it Beautycounter or not.
