It reads, "I cried as if my heart would break that St. Valentine's Day; I had always dreaded the time that she must go away. I said it was a cruel world - how selfish God Had been. But I was being the selfish one cause she was well again. She had been ill for oh so long, endured such dreadful pain. And here I was blaming God cause she was well again. Upon this fine but weary world her feet no longer trod; the greatest Valentine of all, I gave her back to God." ???. I've been rediscovering old family keepsakes lately. This is Lola Camilla Partain - My great grandmother, and Lula Mae's daughter. Born 1904, died Valentine's Day 1938. In her funeral book (pictured here with flowers from her funeral), her daughter Mazie wrote this poem at the age of only 14. ❤️ A reminder to be grateful for each and everyday.
