"Buy Local" I saw this last week in an apartment window while walking to dinner with mom and Mel. I loved the support and heart. I thought of it today and how grateful I am that customers take the time to shop small and/or local. I continually try to shop small and if need be large, then local. Then I'm contributing to my cities growth. Yes I have my amazon office supply and paper towel needs. But imagine a world without small... we are all so convenience based, we need everything to be so easy. And that's why so many things we once had value for are becoming a lost art, even love. Imagine a world where there's only online from large conglomerates... there's no art, no craft, no trade, no skill. Just machines. Next time you feel like buying a birthday gift from amazon remember the contribution you're making to a dream lost. A maker who has no outlet anymore, no more store fronts. It's our job to keep art alive. Art feeds our heart and souls, it allows for tradition. Every time you purchase small you are making a conscious decision to keep art, hope, and dreams alive. Yes it involves leaving the home, and possibly parking, but in the end that's a small "price" to pay for a world that still embraces creativity.
