?? My mom flew in yesterday to go to city of hope with me for a second opinion on lumps in my breasts. We went today. My birth mother passed away at my current age, so there were extra nerves today. While waiting for the radiologist, I kept thinking "what's taking so long, just stay strong for mom." A beautiful woman was sitting next to us. She had no hair on the back of her head. They called her back and she took a deep breath and left the room. She returned about 5 minutes later. When her technician came back in she said "is everything ok", technician responded with a "yes". My mom and I, and the beautiful stranger all burst into tears. She went on to explain she found out she had breast cancer 3 months before her wedding day, it quickly moved to her brain. Today was the first time in 3 years that someone has told her "yes, everything looks ok." I jumped up and gave her a hug still crying. Then my technician walked in and gave me a clean bill of health. I thought how great it was that it did take so long for her to return, if she didn't we would not have been able to be there to share someone's joyous occasion. Im happy she wasn't alone. She asked if she could take a picture with me to remember her special day. Today I'm grateful for lots of stuff, my mom, friends, the stranger, her life ahead, my life - and the timing of things. ❤️ I hope you all are grateful for today as well. ???
