I wasn't gonna share this, because I didn't think too many would "get it", but when has that ever stopped me. Haha I like over sharing in a world that's become so afraid and jaded. Anywho, about a month ago, I was at my doc and one of the amazing women that works there said "I have a feeling this blood moon/eclipse is gonna be a big thing for you in your life. Like everything is going to start to change for the better" I got so excited! ? Shit please change that was a crazy month. I was scheduled at Lula that day. I had not worked a Sunday all year except to teach. At about 15 minutes till closing, this lovely British gentlemen and his wife walked in. We exchanged a few funny comments about items in the shop, but that was it. He never asked how my day was etc. He said "this store is wonderful, and not for those that take themselves too seriously" haha I loved that description of my little Lula, so true. Then he approached the register and asked to borrow a piece of paper. I assumed he was going to write the quote. He never looked up at me when he was writing, he just asked two questions "what are you going to be when you grow up", and "do you have babies". I explained that I'm already doing what I want to do, but hope to never grow up, and that I have fur babies and no desire for more. ? he stopped writing and pushed the piece of paper across the counter. It read : "I'm special. I deserve the best. I'm worthy." I burst into tears and gave him the biggest hug. Then he got teary eyed and as he hugged back he said "don't your forget that, ok?"
From his tears I could tell this was not something he does often. I didn't ask who he was, or how he knew I needed those words then. I just closed up shop after he left. Went home, placed the paper in a locket around my neck. I've repeated it a ton the last few weeks.
When you have a loving heart it's easy to forget to be loving to yourself first.
That little piece of paper has been a daily reminder that I have to keep loving on me first. He was my first miracle, and my angel. ???❤️ In case anyone needed a reminder this morning too. Life's precious, give all the love you can but don't forget to get some too. ?
