When I was a little girl my dad used to line up all my wrapped Christmas gifts on the mantel. He would let me pick one without knowing what was inside. Then he would make me donate all the rest to children who needed them more than me. It may sound sad but it actually was one of the greatest gifts my dad ever gave me, the quality of selflessness.
