More than a dozen years ago, I had this idea. But I wasn't sure how to execute it. I needed some expert advice. Maybe a bootmaker. So our friend @theneonjungle set us up with Texas bootmaker, Lee Miller of Texas Traditions in Austin. In the small shop off of South Congress under a ceiling hung with boot lasts from so many well-known feet, Lee patiently walked us through tools and processes. He took a look at my prototype. He showed me what tools I needed. He showed me how to properly use those tools. He opened a closet to reveal layers upon layers of premium hides and said something like this, ⠀
⠀
"when you make something with your hands, the time to make it is the same no matter what material you use so always use the best material to ensure your time making is well-spent." ⠀
⠀
Those hours in that workshop with Lee were for our MARKET BAG. ⠀
A bag that long ago became a Stash client favorite. Nearly every one we have built was unique in material while consistent in features and quality. A unisex carry all built tough enough for daily use and elegant enough for the boardroom. ⠀
⠀
Today, we turn a few of these bags out each year. You can shop our current inventory in-store at Curate in #RoundTop and online. ⠀
