With the summer angling season recently finishing, I thought I should refer back to a highlight of the year. In mid January, the cicadas were out in force, and the spring creek trout had one thing on their minds. An easy protein meal was available for them for a limited time, and for us as anglers an equally great opportunity was on offer. It was the most entertaining time of the year; the big trout were locked on to this irresistible fodder and moved great distances to intercept a meal.
