Popped out for a quick morning session to try and christen my new Epic 990 glass rod. Clear water, blue sky and no wind is not ideal conditions for pike fishing but surprisingly managed 7 fish! Ultra slow retrieve was the trick and it was lots of fun seeing fish follow the fly all the way in. Biggest was an 8 lbs fish that was casually swimming with its dorsal fin out of the water.
