Have you ever been caught in a downpour when out on the water? It can actually be quite rewarding if you time it right, as the increase in river volume dislodges nymphs from the underwater boulders and the trout are often easier to deceive in the coloured water. Just make sure you have contingency plans in place, as some rivers can flash flood and become challenging to cross. With the wading - if in doubt, don't cross! We got lucky this time around, and there were plenty of Brown's dining out...
