Abt Employee Spotlight!
While you’ll often hear that Abt is a family-run business, you might be surprised to know that many families and married couples work together within the building, too. Julie and Rafal are one such couple, with a crew of three kids at home and a much larger family waiting for them every morning at work.
Rafal was born in Poland, speaks fluent Polish, and started at Abt two decades ago in Appliance Service. He has since worked in our Custom Kitchens department and is now a General Manager handling everything within the realm of Custom Kitchens. If you’re stuck choosing between a six- or four-burner rangetop, Rafal is the man you’ll want to see.
Starting as a cashier over 14 years ago, Julie is originally from Moscow and has worked her way up from the cashier counter to a buyer position for our designer sunglasses and Tumi luggage. Her favorite part about working at Abt? Establishing a relationship with each new customer that walks into the door. It’s her favorite part of her job. If you’re looking for Julie’s advice on which luggage is right for your next trip, you might not find her in the Tumi store. Check upstairs in the Inspiration Studio, where she helps customers pick out the custom countertops for their kitchens.
This kitchen-designing-couple has been married for ten years now and first met sixteen years ago when Julie still worked the checkout counter. When they’re not designing homes or managing the store, this power couple enjoys going on runs together and throwing backyard barbecues with the kids.
