It’s the holiday season, and having gifts delivered to your door makes everything easier. That’s why Logistics plays such a vital role at Abt. December’s Employee Spotlight features Enrique Hernandez, who manages out-of-state shipping orders and helps ensure products move smoothly from point A to point B.
Enrique’s journey at Abt began with a gift. Enrique grew up nearby, and his parents often brought him and his brothers to the store. One favorite memory is receiving an iPod Touch here after graduating eighth grade. Years later, a high school friend who worked at Abt helped him land an interview.
Over his six-year career, Enrique has worked in several departments. He started in Appliance Service and Appliance Parts, assisting customers, working the service counter, and unloading inventory. He later moved into Dropship, coordinating shipments sent directly from third-party warehouses to customers. That role introduced him to Logistics and prepared him for his current position, which he balances alongside Dropship projects.
Today, Enrique supports customers nationwide, solving complex delivery challenges, from remote locations to oversized shipments. He credits Abt’s carefully vetted third-party carriers for maintaining the same high standards customers expect locally. Even during the busy holiday season, the Logistics team remains focused on improving nationwide service. “Nothing would be possible without the team on the floor. It all connects. It’s not just one person, it’s about connecting the dots.” Together, Enrique and the Logistics team keep operations running like clockwork to deliver a seamless customer experience.
What he enjoys most about his job is the freedom to problem-solve creatively. An assistant manager, Mike Stolarski, praised Enrique’s ability to see challenges through from start to finish.
Enrique isn’t the only member of his family at Abt. “It’s such a family-driven location. My mom works here, my brother works in customer service, my aunt works here, and my cousin just started in the warehouse.” Different roles, one shared goal: delivering the products and service customers need—near or far.
