<p>Here’s the <a href="http://kck.st/SxZEg2">cabin studio</a> from the same angle, midway through that summer. You can see how we’ve applied the tar paper and have started putting in the windows. The windows all came from Habitat for Humanity Re-Stores, and we got most of them for about $11 each, when the store was having a 90% off sale on windows. We just went ahead and bought all the windows at once, and then designed the house around what windows we could find.</p>
<p>We wanted to let in a lot of natural light, but we also wanted to use double-paned windows, to insulate better against the cold during the winter.</p>
