Photo @chrisburkard The rise & fall of tides can breathe life into estuary systems. Birds, fish & all kinds of marine life return to an otherwise muddy river bottom as the tide fills in. Estuaries form a transition zone between river environments and maritime environments. They are subject both to marine influences & riverine influences. These are considered some of the most nutrient dense environments on the planet due to the inflow of sea water & fresh water. An aerial perspective gives an understanding of just how delicate & intricate this maze of water actually is. Two kayakers exit the maze.
