Photo by @jodymacdonaldphoto // Doors in Morocco are gateways to another world. The hand painted doors of Essaouira are not only reminders of the cities rich history but are portals into the lives of the Morrocan families that live within. These doors are ordained with Moorish style motifs and are made of wood, metal and plaster. This particular door was built in 1336. Essaouira’s walled medina dates from the late 18th century and was added to Unesco’s World Heritage list in 2001. Wandering its narrow, maze like streets is like taking a stroll back in time making it a wonderful place to explore. #morocco #essaouira #africa
