To occupy his time, he makes wine, cheese and other traditional foods and runs a small space devoted to the preservation of history and culture in this tiny mountain village. Expecting no payment, he took us on a guided tour of Bovino's historic districts, telling stories going back to the pre-Roman period--tales of bandits, agricultural development, counterfeit money, and illicit romances. I wonder who in my generation is taking it upon themselves to learn these tales. Bovino is beautiful. #Italy #history #puglia
