Congaree National Park is one of the lesser known gems of the National Park system. A paddle down the Congaree River feels like a swamp but is actually an old growth forested floodplain, an incredibly haunting place (in a good way). After three hours kayaking we encountered at least two dozen snakes basking along the shore and overhanging branches. Can you guess what kind of snake this is?
