The climbing world lost a legend today. Fred Beckey was a pioneer in so many ways and there probably isn’t a significant climbing area or mountain range in the United States (or around the world) that doesn’t have a “Beckey Route”. I have become enamored with the imprint he has left on alpinism. Anytime you show up in a climbing destination and find a Beckey Route you know it’s a worthy endeavor. I have had some incredible adventures in the mountains following the legend that is Fred Beckey. Thank you for all your contributions to the climbing world and setting an example for never giving in and living out your passion every single day.
