?: @krystlejwright // The Moroccan town of Merzouga is often known as the gateway to Erg Chebbi, a huge expanse of sand dunes north of town. There is an old legend to how the dunes came to be; When a wealthy family refused hospitality to a poor woman and her son, God was offended, and buried them under the mounds of sand called Erg Chebbi. Folk tales or not, there is no denying the majestic appearance of the dunes rising above Merzouga. The landscape is spectacular as tourists flock here especially in the winter to experience a slice of the Sahara. #morocco #sahara #travel
