The World at Night project
There are not many places left on the planet to enjoy the natural starry sky like this. More than 80% of humanity experiences light-polluted night skies where the Milky Way is no longer visible. On this July night the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming appears with the light of setting moon. The bright summer Milky Way in Scorpius and Sagittarius stands above the light of the nearby town Jackson Hole (towards south). The Teton Range is a part of the Rocky Mountains. The Grand Teton, the tallest mountain in the range, is 13,775 feet (4,199 m) high.
