Photo by @CarltonWard // The Perdido River winds down Florida’s western border with Alabama. The tannic waters contrast magically with white sandbars at forest’s edge. This is the western frontier of the Florida Wildlife Corridor and the route we paddled during the final days of the Glades to Gulf Expedition. River shoal campsites soon gave way to open bay leading to Gulf Islands National Seashore a couple days downstream.
