This team of huskies broke away from their Inuit musher and then fell through thin ice while on a @natgeo / @natgeopristineseas expedition in Qaanaaq, Greenland. Tragically, one dog was lost but due to the heroic efforts of the entire team, all of the other dogs were saved. We were there doing a project on the extent of sea ice that has disappeared over the past 20 years. What is left has become much thinner and less predictable in the winter.
