Photo by @michaelclarkphoto // Sunset over the Valles Caldera near Los Alamos, New Mexico. The Valles Caldera is one of the most studied super volcanoes in the world. It is a massive 13.7 miles wide and the floor of the caldera is covered with hot springs, fumaroles, natural gas seeps, volcanic domes and rolling grasslands. A small stream also bisects the caldera offering incredible fly fishing. Science estimates that this volcano might have risen as high as 35,000 feet at one point. #supervolcano #vallescaldera #vallescalderanationalpreserve #newmexico #losalamos
