Photograph by @chrisburkard // Two hikers trek high above Lake Ritom in the Piora Valley of Switzerland. This is the ridgeline that surrounds many of these alpine lakes, and it was our goal to circumvent the whole ridge, photographing the alpine lakes from above. Getting glimpses of the valley below through the moving clouds was one of my fondest memories of the Ticino region of Switzerland. It's my goal to photograph a place or subject from a perspective that people don’t normally see. In the case of the Piora Valley, this meant a six-hour hike along this narrow ridgeline.
