The strip that runs through the center of Veracruz, along the Gulf of Mexico, is called Costa Esmeralda (Emerald Coast) and is one of the main touristic destinations of the region. It is formed by twenty kilometers of dark sand beaches and waters of green tones. In this season, during sunrise, the fog covers the coast completely.
