Photo: @Chrisburkard Breaking ice to navigate the seas in the Arctic Circle is a foreign experience for someone who grew up on the sunny coast of California. The Arctic is an entirely new beast, a place where the smallest of mistakes or things overlooked can result in injury or worse. Being in these remote places in such conditions make you realize the experience you need but more importantly the trust in the people you are with for a safe voyage.
