Photo @pedromcbride // The Garhwal Himalaya mountain range gives birth to one of the largest and most sacred rivers in the world, the Ganges. It also gives rise to characters like this man, Muni Babi or “Silent Baba” — the highest permanent resident on the river living at 14,000 ft. on the flanks of the Gangotri Glacier. To show his dedication to Mother Ganges, he doesn’t speak. He also makes an amazing cup of chai. Honored that our film, “Holy (un)Holy,” just won Best Mountain Culture at #torellomountainfilm. @mountainworld @davidcmorton #chasingrivers #holyunholyriver
