@paulnicklen on assignment for @natgeo // I have the good fortune to swim with many species of sharks around the world but for me, the blue shark appears to be the most striking with their electric blue color melding into the rich, clear water 50 miles off the BC coast. Blue sharks, one of the 14 shark species living in BC waters, are frequently killed as by-catch of fisheries. This is causing a population decline and a near threatened global status for this shark.
