However, it was actually one of the best hours of my life. These are stellar sealions and the males can grow up to 12 feet (4meter) long and weigh in at over 2000 .lbs (1000kg)! Because of their curious nature, these sea lions wanted to know what this new funky object was swimming in their territory. As humans, we find out the texture of a new object by using our hands. Sea lions obviously don't have this ability so instead they use their teeth. Think of it as a loving, tender bite rather than an aggressive, "I want to eat you" bite!
