Photo by @FransLanting “Albatross City” They look beautiful on the ground, but in the air they’re simply stunning. No other bird flies like an albatross. More than two-thirds of the world’s black-browed albatrosses--some 500,000 pairs--breed in the Falkland Islands. They build mud-pillar nests in such close proximity that birds must often walk to the edge of the nesting colony to have enough room to take off. We're celebrating "Animals as Athletes" this week in an Olympic gallery @FransLanting, where you can see amazing images of albatrosses in flight.
