The Subway is a 1/4 mile long tube shaped slot canyon, accessible by hiking upstream for a few miles or a technical canyoneering through hike. Zion National Park was established on November 19th, 1919 and ranges in elevation from 3,600' to 8,700'. Zion Canyon was carved out of Navajo sandstone by the North Fork of the Virgin River.
