Ringed seals keep several breathing holes on the sea ice to avoid polar bears. It is a harsh environment for both species and the drama of life and death is never out of sight in the Arctic. The bigger danger for these animals, however, is the rising temperatures that are rapidly melting the sea ice. In the absence of ice, neither will survive.
